The game started on Halloween, 2002, when five men attending Malone University in Canton, OH, without parties to attend, girlfriends or responsibilities, decided to go play a game of football. What began as football turned into a 3-on-2 game of Sloth, named after student, Matt Repasky.
As enjoyment ensued and the game was played again and again, Friday Sloth games became a tradition for the men and women of Lower Penn and Malone University.
Today, students, alumni, and others still play Sloth and meet every year to enjoy time together and to show their unathleticism. These same players have also begun the Sloth Scholarship Fund, a Malone student academic scholarship that is funded through the Annual Sloth event.
